When is Dementia Care Appropriate?

Determining the right time for someone with dementia to move into a care home can be a complex decision, dependent on various factors. It may be beneficial when the person’s needs have surpassed what can be provided at home, or when the caregiver’s capacity to provide care is strained. The decision also depends on the progression of the individual’s dementia and their overall health status. It’s essential to involve the person with dementia, their family, and healthcare professionals in this decision-making process to ensure the best possible outcome.

If you have a loved one with dementia and would like to discuss your care options, please get in touch, and we will be happy to speak with you about The Chestnuts and the environment we can provide.

Emergency Admissions

A lot of care homes will not accept emergency admissions. They require you to book a week or more in advance. However, we understand that life does not always run to plan.

We offer emergency same-day admissions seven days a week. We will do an assessment that day to ensure we can meet your loved ones' care needs, and then they can move in.

We can only offer this when we have a bedroom available so please get in touch with our team to check room availability.
