I’m Bethany, the manager of The Chestnuts, and I am incredibly proud to call this wonderful care home my home.
My Grandad, Eric, founded our care home forty years ago. He was the owner and manager, and my nana did the cooking.
My parents started working at the Chestnuts, offering care, when I was 4. I started working as a carer at the Chestnuts Retirement Home 24 years ago. However, I have known the home my whole life, and as a child, I often visited to say ‘hi’ to the residents.
Throughout the last 24 years, I have worked in every aspect of the care home, from care assistant to accounts. I am now the Manager and the Owner. My children often visit the Chestnuts Retirement Home to say ‘hi’ to the residents and have expressed interest in continuing the family business.
The Chestnuts has always been known as a family home.
My nana and grandad ended their years at the Chestnuts Retirement Home, and we aim to ensure your loved one receives that same high standard of care.
Your parents are treated as our own.
Offering day care, short term care and long term care in the small village of Ruskington.
You or your loved one is welcome to come along, have a chat and enjoy a day with us.
Often it is hard for people to get out independently, and that is why we believe in bringing the community in
But also ..
.. offering weekly escorted (if needed) trips to the local amenities, enabling residents to continue to be independent and a part of village life.
The local primary school is actively involved and children visit us every month.
Our residents and children draw together, make crafts together, and chat together.
It is so lovely to see everyone so happy and part of their own vibrant community.
